My Social Selling Journey: How I Chose My Hero Product & Rebuilt My Online Business Strategy
Then I came across this post on Facebook:
At first, I thought it was a freelance job when I messaged someone named Lhei who posted this graphics in a Facebook group. But later I found out that I would simply help promote a whitening toothpaste online—and I could earn retail income for every order.
Honestly, I wasn’t that interested at first. I just wanted to help promote the product, so I agreed to post just once.
But after that first post, I got two orders immediately. I even ordered one for myself just to support it.
After 2 weeks of using the whitening toothpaste, I was really shocked.
I couldn’t believe my coffee-stained teeth could look this clean again—without even going to a dentist. I’m honestly so happy and satisfied with the results.

That excitement made me post again—and that’s when more orders started coming in ๐ค๐ค๐ค
That moment changed everything for me.
I immediately signed up as a Brand Affiliate under Nu Skin, and I also started sharing the opportunity with my friends.
That’s when I realized something deeper—not just about earning, but about helping others start their own online business for free.
๐งด My First Hero Product: AP24 Whitening Toothpaste
My very first hero product was the AP24 Whitening Toothpaste.
It was simple, easy to promote, and my very first experience of real sales came from it. Because of that, I focused heavily on it during my early days in social selling.
But as time went on, I started promoting multiple products under Nu Skin.
At first, I thought more products meant more chances of selling. But I eventually learned a difficult lesson:
๐ Too many products can confuse your audience and weaken your message.
My sales became inconsistent. Some months were strong; others were very slow.
That’s when I realized I needed a clearer strategy.

๐ Why I Took a Break from Social Selling
In 2023, I decided to pause my business and return to work.
I wanted stability again—steady income and less pressure.
But even while working, I never stopped thinking about social selling.
I knew I would come back—but this time, I needed a better system.
๐ My New Strategy: One Hero Product at a Time
When I restarted my social selling journey, I completely changed my approach.
Instead of promoting many products at once, I now focus on one hero product at a time.
My current rotation system looks like this:
- 3 months: Scion Deodorant
- Next 3 months: Scion Feminine Wash
- Next 3 months: AP24 Whitening Toothpaste
Other products are only promoted inside my private Facebook group for existing customers.
This helps me stay focused, consistent, and clearer in my messaging.
๐ฟ Why I Chose Scion Deodorant as My Current Hero Product
One of my current hero products is Scion Deodorant.
I chose it for simple reasons:
✔ I personally use it
✔ It is gentle on the skin
✔ It has a high reorder rate
✔ I understand the product deeply
When you use a product yourself, it becomes easier to share real experiences—not just sales talk.
The same applies to Scion Feminine Wash. I only promote products I genuinely believe in.
๐ฑ My Social Selling Strategy: Storytelling Over Hard Selling
Today, my approach to social selling is very different.
Instead of just posting product ads, I focus on storytelling and connection.
Here’s what I do regularly:
- Share personal experiences with the product
- Post customer orders and feedback
- Mix lifestyle content with soft selling
- Create simple graphics using Canva
- Do educational posts about usage and benefits
I only do hard sell once a week.
The rest of the time, I focus on building trust.
๐ค What I Learned About Social Selling
Over the years, I learned that social selling is not just about selling products.
It is about:
- Building genuine relationships
- Understanding customer needs
- Offering solutions instead of pushing products
- Asking before recommending
- Taking care of customers after purchase
People don’t like being sold to—but they love being understood.
๐ฏ My Current Focus Moving Forward
Right now, my goal is simple:
✔ Build a strong customer base
✔ Focus only 10% on reseller recruitment
✔ Grow through repeat customers and trust
✔ Stay consistent with a clear product strategy
This time, I’m not rushing growth. I’m building something sustainable.
๐ฌ Let’s Talk: What’s Your Hero Product?
Every social seller eventually finds a product they truly connect with.
Now I want to hear from you:
๐ What is your current hero product?
๐ Why do you love promoting it?
Feel free to share your story in the comments or message me. I’d love to connect with fellow social sellers.
